Kevin Yates Award

Attention: open in a new window. Print

Australian credit unions were founded by people like Kevin Yates (1911-1987), who promoted credit union principles, and assisted others to develop banking alternatives in communities that would not otherwise have had access to simple savings and loans products.

Inspired by Kevin Yates’ commitment to the credit union philosophy, the Kevin Yates Award was established by the Australian Credit Union Archives in 1987 to recognise individuals who voluntarily give their time and energy to promote the principles of the sector.

Today, the Award offers financial assistance to selected participants of the Insight Program, to expand and promote the work of Australian mutuals, aligning the traditions of mutuals to their current workplace culture.

Expressions of interest in receiving the Kevin Yates Award are invited.
